Serving from a Social Distance

What is "Serving from a Social Distance"?

As our chapter of Freedom by Design is compiling resources and information amidst the COVID-19 crisis to inform activists how to stay safe and how to help. This advocacy project focuses on highlighting the different ways activists can stay informed, engaged, and safe in an unprecedented time. Our informational graphics and content are focused on the local Pittsburgh scene, but we encourage you to get in touch with your local community to see what you can do to help!

Am I in a position to help out during COVID-19 times?

No worries! Here are some things you can should consider:

  • Wash your hands often (and for more than 20 seconds)

  • Avoid touching your face

  • If you experience symptoms similar to COVID-19, return home and contact your physician

  • Stay active and eat healthy to keep your immune system in top-top shape

Practice social distancing:

  • Stay 6 feet away from others; especially those that don't live with you

  • Cough/sneeze into your elbow

Keep up to date on changing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines as well as the latest news and statistics in your area

Stay connected with others via online interaction:

  • Reach out to family and friends to check up on them

  • Use online entertainment media to pass the time

  • Get creative and fun with some new activities; try blogging, cooking, and working out
